Kiko Milano Haul

So since I was in Italy this summer and KIKO is an Italian cosmetics brand, there were more shops there than there are in the UK and I may have taken some advantage of that...
I absolutely adore KIKO as a brand because they offer really good quality products for the normal 'highstreet/drugstore' prices and who doesn't want that?! Also, their stores already look like you are going to spend all your money when in reality everything turns out to be much cheaper than expected!

A couple of weeks ago I saw they had a sale going on and I went to have a look to see if there was anything left from the 'Rebel Romantic' collection, which there was! I picked up two blushes (03 and 04) from the beautiful collection. When I first opened them the texture looked a bit powdery but once I used them they turn out to be really creamy which I personally prefer during summer. I am loving the shade 03 at the moment as it is a lighter pink and 04 is more of a wine colour which will be perfect in autumn.

I also bought a variety of different eyeshadows, the square eyeshadow is a beautiful coral colour and it is their wet and dry eyeshadow (219). I already find it very pigmented when using it dry but the pattern is so cute that I don't want to ruin it! I actually regret that I didn't buy more of these because I think it is so pretty, the packaging as well. The less pretty packaging eyeshadows are the little round ones with just a plastic lid. The colours are really pigmented as well although I am not sure if the gold one (102) really suits me. I have been using the other one (139) everyday on its own to have something on my eyelids but still a natural make up look.

So onto another type of eyeshadow that I bought (which is totally okay) is two of the eye tech look eyeshadow pens. I picked up the colours (117) which is a kind of champagne colour and the colour (104) which is a brown colour. They both have a shiny metallic finish to them and since they come in a pen form they are super easy to use and there are no brushes needed!

Finally I also purchased a nail polish in a vintage pink colour as it just looked really good with the dress that I was wearing at that moment. You always need to find an excuse to buy something, right?
All of these products were actually on sale and everything together was only 25 euros!
I have noticed that KIKO prices are slightly going up which is probably because they bring out a lot of new limited editions. However, it is still a really affordable brand that offers high quality products which is basically what everyone wants to see!

Summer Favourites

During my summer holiday I came across different beauty items that have helped my skin, body and hair to stay hydrated and I thought it would be a good idea to share them now!

Every day it was 30 degrees outside so I did not really want to use heavy moisturisers but just some fresh products such as the tropical 'piƱata colada' range from the body shop. This is probably my new favourite summer smell now! I love the pineapple and coconut combination and it leaves your skin smelling fresh and fruity which is exactly what it should smell like in summer! I also used the vanilla body mist from the body shop a lot this summer and I highly recommend trying that one or one of their other body mists if you are looking for a new scent but do not want to spend too much money.

For my hair I have been using the Coco Loco spray which is really good to freshen up your a little bit. I especially enjoyed using it at the beach when my hair gets all tangled and is too salty from the water. It leaves a really lovely coconut scent to your hair whilst refreshing and moisturising it.

I had read so many positive reviews about Liz Earle skincare that I decided to pick up the 'cleanse and polish' cleanser just before I went on holiday and I can now see why sooo many people recommend this product, it is absolutely amazing and it even takes off my difficult mascaras! My skin instantly feels soft after using this product and I cannot understand why I never thought of buying this before. Obviously I am going to use this for the rest of the year but I just found out this summer that I love it so much. I want to try more skincare products of Liz Earle soon and I hope they are just as good!

Last but not least, my polaroid camera! I have owned a polaroid camera for awhile now but I never wanted to use it in case the picture got ruined and I only had so many chances to take a good photo. This holiday I finally used it and there is just something about the fact that the picture comes out straight away that makes it extra special. (and it looks cute in every insta which is always a plus)

I hope everyone had a lovely summer and got the tan they wanted. Love, Marlinde x

Italy '16

Italy, you are beautiful.

This summer my boyfriend and I went on holiday together to Italy. We went camping in a tent which was actually meant for 6 people but with my huge suitcase, we needed all the space we had. Luckily, I did not need any warmer clothes I packed because it was 30 degrees outside every day so just a bikini would have been enough for these days.
First we stayed on a camping at Lago Maggiore, a beautiful lake in the upper part of Italy.
Arona is a small town within 5 minutes from our camping, one evening we went out for dinner there. The name of the restaurant was Marconi beach and it was such a nice place to sit and eat some pasta, the restaurant was on a kind of platform just above the water so whilst we were having dinner, swans were swimming around us.
Another town we drove to was Stresa. Actually, the drive to Stresa was almost more impressive than the town itself. The town was beautiful and a bit bigger than Arona which I liked since there was more to see. The reason why driving there was so impressive was because of every enormous villa next to the road, they looked like small castles and I haven't stopped dreaming about having one for my own one day.

After five days we went to our second camping which was really close to Venice. since it was a 4,5 hour drive from the first camping to the second, we made a stop in Verona along the way. I love the buildings in both Verona and Venice because of all the beautiful and small details they have, I think it is amazing how much effort people used to put in creating the most precise paintings on ceilings. Sometimes I wish that still the same amount of effort would being put into new buildings to make them look similar.
I have visited Venice before when I was little but that was when I was more focused on the ice cream choices than the beautiful view and surroundings. (this still happens sometimes)

When I made my bucket list room decoration, I put 'ride a gondola' on there which can now be taken off! Riding a gondola for half an hour is pretty expensive but SO worth it! It is a really romantic and amazing experience and definitely something that everyone needs to do in their life. Before visiting Venice, you really need to say to yourself not to worry about how much everything is going to cost because if you do, you will have less of a great time. For just a Fanta they will ask around 5 euros which is insane but they can because everyone needs to drink, especially in those weather conditions. My boyfriend and I just decided that we would not worry too much about money and just enjoy ourselves! Also, do not leave before it is dark because San Marco at night is even prettier than during the day because the buildings and lanterns all light up the place and you never want to leave.

I really needed a break and this holiday was so relaxed and I enjoyed it a lot! I wish I could go back and eat more Italian ice cream and go to the beach there for a couple more days (or weeks). We are back in Holland now and the weather here is more like autumn than summer and I hope that when I go to England again, the sun is waiting for me.

Even though I never wanted my holiday to end, I also cannot wait to go back to blogging again! I have soooo many ideas for my blog and different posts that I cannot wait to get started on so stay tuned for that!
