There comes a certain point in your life when you know something is going to change and you are not sure if you can handle that.
Well, this is mine. Moving to another country.
Since I was born, I’ve lived in The Netherlands. I have built up my life there. Now I’m sixteen and everything has changed.
A few years ago, my mom met someone and they immediatly fell in love. Unfortunately he lived in England and we were still somewhere in the north of The Netherlands. They didn’t see each other very often but they knew it was worth waiting every time.
Years past and they were still very in love. It was time for a change.
A big one.
Our house was sold and in the beginning of July, my mom, sister and I moved over to England.
I didn’t want to move at all but sometimes you just need to accept that you can’t change it.
Because it was still summer holiday, we had enough time to sort things out in the house and make our rooms pretty.
When all of that was done, my sister and I flew back to The Netherlands for 2 weeks to see everyone again.
Now being back in England, I’ve tried to find a job but I’m still searching. Most places are looking for someone over eighteen. Tomorrow is my first day of school. I’m a bit nervous but also very excited because one of my subjects that I chose is product fashion design.
My dad, the rest of my family, my boyfriend and my friends still all live in The Netherlands and I miss them a lot.
Although I will go back to The Netherlands as often as I can, my life is now here and I need to focus on that too.
So I hope I’m going to meet nice people here as well and make some friends. Everything will take time but we will see what happens.
Here I am, starting a new chapter in my life.
